Out of touch isn’t nearly enough to describe today’s American President.
He’s gone all socialist agenda on us and his actions are proving Glenn Beck’s theory right, Obama and company are radically transforming America.
In a socialist society, the government collects resources from individuals, owners and corporations by levying taxes, fines, mandates, penalties, and restrictions, so that it can distribute resources such as welfare, unemployment, food, medical, education, government, housing and energy to its citizens, all in the name of equality of services. (While the US provides similar entitlement programs already, socialism would extend services on a much broader scale.)
In a capitalist society, market forces are driven by the unique bargaining relationship between seller and buyer; employer and employee. This trade-off in the market creates consumer options. Consumer options is the driving force behind quality services and fair prices, take that away, innovation and low costs go away too, leaving a stale and expensive market place.
Socialists demand income and access equality and assert that a socialist-run government is a means to that end. They are wrong. When a centralized government gets to collect and allocate resources — needed to survive – to its entire populace, that’s excessive power which 9 times out of 10 will lead to corruption (it’s the nature of the beast), and that’s what socialism is all about – power and control.
A centralized government is incapable of providing equal services, and even if it could it’s still questionable whether equal is better than quality. An economic process dictated by the government ostensibly ends individual choice. Socialists will claim that it’s more important to be equal than to have choice, but the truth is one cannot have true equality when there’s no freedom to decide what equal looks like.
The current health care law is the perfect example of promulgating a socialist agenda (and much more sinister than it looks) because it requires health insurance companies to provide applicants with a specific, “equal” plan prescribed by the government, instead of the way it usually insures by calculating risk and assigning coverage. Health insurance companies cannot compete successfully without the ability to operate in the most effective, profitable, quality driven manner, without rising rates through the roof.
In time, the new health care law will force most health insurance companies to close their doors (Nancy Pelosi admitted), opening the door to a two-tier system of health care recipients; those receiving it via the government’s totalitarian program, and those rich enough to afford health insurance who will receive health benefits the same way the average person receives health care now. So, why are we transforming the health care system in the first place?
Two of the most-often-touted reasons why Americans should like the new health care plan are:
A) People with pre-existing medical conditions are dying and/or losing their homes and all of their money due to inadequate health insurance coverage; and
B) Health insurance companies need to be “reigned in” for abusive behavior and excessive profits.
Those who articulate these positions will go down in history as the biggest hoaxers of all time.
There is no need to grow government ten-fold, empower them with 1/7 of the economy, and change the way Americans receive health care all because a small number of people fit into category A. There is a way to deal with pre-existing conditions, as a society, than enacting “landmark” legislation 2,000+ pages long. The government could be useful if they put all of the individuals from category A in touch with the large number of non-profit organizations that willingly help pay medical costs when a sick person is in need, but who am I to think? (I must be a Glenn Beck zombie.)
Demonizing insurance companies is a scare tactic that is resonating, but clearly propaganda at its best. There is absolutely nothing wrong with health insurance companies making a profit, it usually means the business is providing good services at a competitive price. The customer dictates what sells and what doesn’t, not health insurance company honchos as the socialists will have you believe.
When insurance companies behave immorally (and I’m sure they do) there is a venue where the buyer can apply for legal recourse; it’s called the Court system, not a group of White House officials, who, de facto, become the supreme rulers of the distribution of health care, what makes them the experts anyway?
Obama and the socialists are interfering with American industry, whether it be financial, medical, media, education, energy or auto, the end goal is the same, extend federal supervision, control, and decision making to a small group of officials, to hell with everyone else.
Keep this up and Americans will see a bleak future that is bored, broke and without work.
“A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it, has earned – this is the sum of good government.” — Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson style politics or Obama style politics, it’s your choice America, starting this November and continuing until every last socialist is voted out of office, let’s make Jefferson proud, carry on Patriots!

Question, for how long and in how many ways can the republican party trade on fear? Socialism really? If you are really serious about socialism in the US please suppport a candidate that does the following:
1. Did not support the financial bailout instituted by a republican treasury secretary and a republican president.
2. Run’s on a platform of privatizing social security one of the largest “socialist” programs
3. Privatize the Veterans Health program since that is a 100% run by the government.
4. Changes the way in which members of congress receive their healthcare
5. Outlines ways of paying off the prescription drug bill that was not paid for by a republican president and congress and just dumped on our deficit.
Let me see a candidate who covers these then i will take the claims of socialism seriously.
I am a fan of capitalism but i also realize that capitalism works best when it is closely monitored/checked to ensure that the masses are not treated unfairly due to peoples profit motive. That is why we have a Food and Drug Administration that needs to approve drugs that are made by private companies, this is why when a new restaurant opens it needs to be inspected by the FDA,that is why elevators in private buildings need to be checked periodically by the govt to ensure appropriate standards of care are met etc
Therefore relating to healthcare what is wrong with the government essentially monitoring the insurance company’s to ensure they are not unfair to the masses e.g increasing prices unfairly? For the past 4 decades insurance companies have had a free rein to jack up prices and look for ways to deny people insurance e.g. pre-existing conditions. Both republican and democratic presidents have been talking about for decades to reform healthcare and have not done much. The last republican president and majorities in congress did little to control skyrocketing costs. The closest meaniful reform occured during Bill Clintons healthcare debate when 20 republicans came up with an alternative to Clintons bill i.e. the Bob Dole/Chafee bill and guess what were the main tenants of the bill
1.an individual mandate enforced by penalty
2. A government voucher to purchase health insurance for individuals to up to 240% of the poverty line.
3. A cap on how much health insurance could be deducted as a tax credit
4. Financing through cuts in Medicare Part B and the limits in tax credits discussed above
5. The elimination of discrimination on the basis of preexisting conditions.
Seems very similar to the healthcare bill that just passed. But i guess it was suggested by a democrat president so it must be socialism.
Lastly i looked at the video on the link and what a load of….baloney. There are 2 instances i have heard barack obama talk about the consititution being imperfect and both times have been in the context of race in the US. If you read the transcripts of the clip on the link on his comments on the consitution, he was saying that although the consitutions began to right the wrongs of racism it did not address redistribution of wealth to those african americans you were products of their racists society at that time and so had been denied opportunities for generations to acquire wealth.
The second instance i have heard him talk about the impefection of the consitution is again when he gave his race speech during the campaign. Here is a piece of the transcript
“Of course, the answer to the slavery question was already embedded within our Constitution – a Constitution that had at is very core the ideal of equal citizenship under the law; a Constitution that promised its people liberty, and justice, and a union that could be and should be perfected over time.
And yet words on a parchment would not be enough to deliver slaves from bondage, or provide men and women of every color and creed their full rights and obligations as citizens of the United States. What would be needed were Americans in successive generations who were willing to do their part – through protests and struggle, on the streets and in the courts, through a civil war and civil disobedience and always at great risk – to narrow that gap between the promise of our ideals and the reality of their time”
Again in that sense the consititution document itself was imperfect to address the wrongs of racism.
So please no out of context clips

Reggie,
I can’t address the video specifically but I can say that I have had enough. The President has called me out and told me “Go For It!” He calls me all kinds of names, and I can’t show the correlation between socialism and this administration?
Of course I can. You and I can disagree on the meaning of the US Constitution, but I see it as a document that protects the people from Government.
No one is listening to me. They are spending too much money right now. It doesn’t matter what Republican or what Democrat supported in the past, what matters is that the President and supporters of this bill do not see the clear problems, and ramifications to the market and quality health care.
Like I said, you can’t have equality if you do not have the freedom to define what equality is.

What names have you been called? The President said “Go for it” to the republicans who have decided to run on a platform of repeal and replace with regards to the healthcare bill. So his point is try going for repealing a bill that does more to correct the inequality in the healthcare industry and see the outcry it causes.
Actually you are being listened to. There was an outcry over the public option and that got taken out of the bill. Although you may have what you believe are the right policies for the country remember there are others who may have other ideas on what policies are good for the country. Majority did not like the policy of the last 8 years and voted clearly for the other party.Again if the masses think we were better off the last 8 years with republican policies, well they will have their chance to vote in november and in 2012. As for now I’m looking for a republican party that makes sure we don’t steer too far left and to make sure we have more center right/moderate policies
By Reggie on Apr 6, 2010
Yes, the President was talking to me. He thinks I’m a Glenn Beck zombie who watches too much FOX news, who can’t think for myself. C’mon be serious. He treats opponents more harshly than he treats Iran.
Reggie, I’m sorry I don’t have one nice thing to say. Electing Obama was a big mistake. He will be a one-term President, mark my words, because instead of making things more amicable between the two ideologies, he’s made it worse.
He’s picked his side, the far left. The rest of America is on the other side of the spectrum. In my eyes, Obama lies through his teeth, as well as the Democrats, I don’t believe a word they say.
They are wrong on this, and I am praying every day that this bad, immoral, communist, law is repealed. And YES it leads to single payor for the reasons I mention in the article, health insurance companies are done with this law.
I was going through some files found an old editorial in the WSJ dated 7/25/05. Guess what, GOP Rep John Shadegg from Arizona tried to get health care reform passed and cheaper by opening up states for competition against each other, who was against it? The Democrats and some Republicans. So, when you or anyone tells me the Republicans have done nothing, I say look at the record, instead of listening to the President, he’ll say and do anything to get his agenda passed.

The Democratic party is the party of “no”: no to lower taxes, no to tort reform, no to life, no to defense.
