President Obama and his cronies in Congress are bent out of shape trying to force Americans to accept what they call remarkable and landmark, we call massive and intrusive. Government healthcare 101 could be a subject offered at College 50 years from now. One chapter could focus on the Rise and Fall of Barack Obama. Rise because he offered change to a People tired of political wrangling and fall because of his failure to change things.

But it’s not just the healthcare power grab that bothers so many it is the way the President is handling a whole host of issues that is so bothersome. You see there is one thing that this administration and Liberal Democrats do not understand though becoming clearer every day, that main stream America does not agree with its liberal agenda, despite unsuspectingly voting into office the most Liberal President and Congress in history, the People made a mistake, and are paying for it dearly.

Here are some examples of the “liberal agenda” Americans disagree with:

  • War prisoners, who already pled guilty in a military tribunal, are transferred to American Courts granting them the same rights of due-process enjoyed by persons living in America, in an unprecedented and dangerous move, that will give the captured during the discovery process, piles and piles of classified, intelligence information, and worst case scenario, a chance to be set free, due to procedural defects.
  • A Commander in Chief that is not deliberate and forceful against its enemies. It has been months, and still, the President does not know what to do in Afghanistan, might be the worst debacle of this administration, where the American military, and indeed the world, are screaming for attention, and the President is dithering.
  • A President that refuses to call a terrorist act, just that. The Fort Hood murders last week was the first act of terrorism on American soil since 9/11, yet the President wants to wait for the “facts” to unfold before making such an assertion. The fact, however, is clear as day, that on Obama’s watch a terrorist infiltrated the Army and murdered 14 innocent lives.
  • The People are capitalists, innovators, movers and shakers, not pathetic fools needing government’s supreme guidance and handouts. There is a role for the Prosecutor to, yes, go after the criminals, but it is the People who, through their purchasing power, decide what is good and what is bad in the market. Government involvement in the free market by redistributing wealth will kill the economy not save it.
  • One hundred eleven departments with an untold number of panels, agencies and bureaucrats deciding the fortune or misfortune of patient health care. Once the government is in charge of healthcare, they will want to monitor and promote healthy choices and lifestyles that will in turn lead to food and other commodity taxes. (Big brother at its best!)
  • A White House that tries to marginalize a worldwide news organization because it is openly critical of the liberal agenda, in a deliberate and conspicuous way, which makes Watergate, appear tame. (I only wish the President was as tough with Iran as he is with FOX news!)
  • For the purpose of global tax legislation, an assumption is made that man made greenhouse gases causes unprecedented climate change, despite mounting evidence to the contrary. Global Warming is so 2002, for a group of people who like to call themselves “progressive”, it is alarming that pursuers of global warming hysteria simply ignore the science that says they are dead wrong.
  • A President who supports unfettered abortion rights, including partial birth abortion, distribution of chemical contraceptives and abortion to minors without parental consent, and suppression of rights for an infant born alive during a botched abortion, is not one who sides with the weak.

All of these meaningful items are within the mainstream thought of the American public, yet Obama pushes these opinions aside, calls us names, and treats us as if we were in the minority, which is arrogant, and no doubt insulting to the people who recognize it.

The bottom line is the President is playing in the Major Leagues but doesn’t even know where first base is.

  1. You brought up many good points about the Incompetent-in-Chief. And since you mentioned healthcare, here’s some constitutional problems with Obamacare to consider.

First, contrary to what Constitution-impaired federal lawmakers evidently think, Congress has no power to regulate healthcare in the name of the Commerce clause. Consider the words of a respected constitutional expert.

“For the power given to Congress by the Constitution does not extend to the internal regulation of the commerce of a State, (that is to say of the commerce between citizen and citizen,) which remain exclusively with its own legislature; but to its external commerce only, that is to say, its commerce with another State, or with foreign nations, or with the Indian tribes.” –Thomas Jefferson, Jefferson’s Opinion on the Constitutionality of a National Bank : 1791. http://avalon.law.yale.edu/18th_century/bank-tj.asp

In fact, the USSC has already tested the idea of Congress regulating medicine, deciding against Congress.

“Direct control of medical practice in the states is obviously beyond the power of Congress.” –-Linder v. United States, 1925. http://supreme.justia.com/us/268/5/case.html

One reason that the corrupt federal government continues to overstep its constitutional limits in healthcare regulation is this, IMO. Pro-big federal government, outcome-driven justices nominated by constitutionally clueless Socialist FDR perverted the reasonable interpretation of the Commerce clause (Article I, Section 8, Clause 3) in the 1940s.

The bottom line is that Congressmen who vote yes on Obamacare will make a handy list of lawmakers who need to be charged with treason for blatantly violating their oaths to defend the Constitution.

Also, the following words of Thomas Jefferson are appropriate for any official action by the Oval Office or Congress where the passing of Obamacare legislation is concerned.

“Where powers are assumed which have not been delegated, a nullification of the act is the rightful remedy.” –Thomas Jefferson: Draft Kentucky Resolutions, 1798. http://tinyurl.com/oozoo

Finally, regarding our troops, I actually hope that Obama brings them all home, the missions be damned, not that the troops aren’t doing their best to fulfill their missions. The reason that we need to get them home is for the simple reason that we need to get them out of harm’s way, IMO, as a consequence of having an Incompetent-in-Chief.

  2. Thank you for your comments B. Johnson and welcome to my blog.

You bring out some very important points. I wonder what our recourse is if healthcare reform gets passed and signed into law. Surely someone or group can take it to court to question its constitutionality. I also question whether a new Congress and President could successfully overturn the measure.

It would be unimaginable that this administration and Congress want to radically transform the way we receive healthcare, if it wasn’t true. (Read my blog “Stall and Call”.)

Although I understand that Afghanistan and Iraq are two different places, if we can do what we did in Iraq with the troop surge in Afghanistan, I think we can save Afghanistan from falling into the hands of Al Quaeda again, once we leave.

  3. Rise and fall…. a bit premature since Obama has only been in office for 10 months.

With regards to Gitmo you fail to mention that the president in his speech a few months back broke down the types of prisoners in gitmo and how they will be tried. For those prisoners that involve sensitive information they will not be tried in a public court. Also some prisoners will be tried in military courts. Also what makes you think whatever “rights” these prisoners will have when they come to US soil they would not have had if they were in Gitmo. The US Supreme Court in 2006 ruled that prisoners at gitmo were entitled to the minimal protections listed under Common Article 3 of the Geneva Conventions (the DOD in 2006 agreed with this).

In the decision in sending troops to afghanistan, President Bush was given 3 months to make the decision on the surge in Iraq. The current president should be given the time to make the right decision. Also to say that on Obama’s watch a terrorist inflitrated the military is very disingenious. You forgot to mention that Hasan is an american born and bred here in the US. Also he did not just join the military a few weeks or few months ago. If you want to play that game well lets look at the facts…two terrorism task forces in 2008 learned that Hassan had been in contact with a radical iman but did noting (under Bush’s watch), in 2007 Hassan gave a speech and a presentation about muslims serving in the military and what was done.. nothing (again under Bush’s watch). guess when he joined the military.. 1988 who was president then?

Healthcare bureaucracies… what about the bureacracies we have now with private insurance? Let’s seperate facts from speculation. Fact the healthcare bill proposed by democrats involves a public INSURANCE option not the govt providing healthcare. Speculation is the govt INSURANCE will lead to govt takeover of healthcare system (including providing healthcare).

Foxnews controversy was a mistake by the administration.

Abortion- You fail to mention that obama supported the inclusion in the healthcare bill for govt dollars not to be used to fund abortion. In his interview with Jake Tapper Obama says and I quote “This is a Healthcare bill not an abortion bill”. Also didn’t i just read that the healthcare bill of members of the RNC covers elective abortion

  4. Hi Reggie,

Rise and Fall is a prediction.

I concede that I am not well enough informed on the Gitmo transfer / Court vs. Tribunal as it relates to the US Supreme Court decision. Different lawyers and experts have different ways of looking at things, so it is difficult to make an honest point as a lay person (not completely understanding the exact mechanics). Notwithstanding, I think it is a bad idea to try the case in NYC.

I think that Holder is right that a conviction, including death sentence, is probable. I suspect his motives, however, I think he has a vendetta against the Bush administration.

There is not enough space here for me to defend Pres. Bush, but suffice is to say he made some very good decisions, and he made some very bad decisions. This article is not about Bush.

Every time a Liberal Democrat starts off their defense of something critical of Obama with “in the past 8 years” (code words for blame Bush) I just roll my eyes and ignore everything else they say. Bush is not the President, Obama has to answer for what he is doing right now.

Again, I do believe Obama has to make a decision in Afghanistan. His delay emboldens the enemy, and decreases troop morale.

I trust the free market over the government 100% any time any day, healthcare “reform” is a 2000 page nightmare for Americans. I have covered this issue more than a few times at this blog.

Actions speak louder than words. I do not think Obama was sincere when he told Congress that he didn’t want federal dollars to pay for abortion. My criticisms towards Obama on the abortion issue are valid based on his record. (Read my commentary on abortion in healthcare here http://raquelokyay.com/?p=83)
