PS–the Congress cannot pass a law that cannot be repealed. The Congress can pass a new law saying that the old law is repealed.

Raquel, I no longer believe that the United States government, the heritage that was created by the founding fathers is viable. Jefferson thought that there should be a revolution every 20 years. The American republic is 234 years old. It is now teetering and a new republic is required. Until Americans decide to free themselves, things will continue to get worse. A free people would not tolerate taxes that amount to more than 50% of national income. Americans have become a nation of cowering slaves, cowering at their masters in Washington.

111 new federal agencies ???????? Let’s see , soon the whole country will be employed by the government. Of course , there won’t be any usable roads for us to get to work on – but who cares about that? Who needs to fix the roads and highways , that’s not the government’s job. Let the bridges collapse. We have more important things to do. Let’s demoralize the doctor’s even more , so that they all leave medicine. fun , fun , fun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh , and don’t forget about all the people who don’t want health insurance. Can’t have people running around without a health insurance number. Got to give everybody a number. Luckily it isn’t on the inside of our wrists – yet.

I hope so Mark. I understand that the bill contains a provision that it cannot be amended or repealed.

There are a few entities seeking to litigate the matter (A couple Attorney Generals of several states are said to be looking into a lawsuit — backed by their respective governors). I think in the end the US Supreme Court will have to hear this on a number of different issues.

Can the government force us to buy health insurance?
Can 1 state pay for and receive different options in healthcare, than another?
Can the government insert a provision in the bill that makes it permanent?

By law, can’t ANY law be repealed? Since the Constitution can be ammended, can’t this law, once Obama signs the bill in January, be repealed by a new Congress that is hopefully domimated after the 2010 elections by free market conservatives?
